A Roof Is Very Hard To Fix After The Ceiling Goes In
On a new build or extension the roof is one of the few elements that has to be right the first time. Once the sheets are down, the insulation is in and the ceiling is lined, correcting a set out mistake means dismantling a finished part of the house.
The errors that cause the most grief are the quiet ones. Battens spaced for a different profile, a frame that is out of plane so the sheets never sit flat, sheet widths that leave a narrow sliver at the last rib, or fixings landing in the wrong part of the corrugation.
None of that shows up on handover day. It shows up two winters later as a leak nobody can explain.
- Batten spacing that does not match the sheet profile
- A roof frame out of plane, leaving sheets that never sit flat
- Set out that finishes on an awkward part sheet
- Fixings placed in the pan instead of the crest, or vice versa
- Penetrations cut in without a plan for how they will be flashed

Measure The Frame Before Ordering The Sheets
We check the frame is square and in plane before anything is ordered. Straightening a frame is a small job at that stage and an impossible one later.
Sheets are then set out so the coverage works across the full roof and you are not finishing on a narrow strip at the edge. Battens go on at the spacing the profile and the site wind rating require, not at a default.
Penetrations, vents and flashings get planned in before the sheets go down, so every one of them lands where it can be flashed properly rather than being cut in afterwards and sealed.
- Frame checked square and in plane before materials are ordered
- Sheet coverage set out across the full roof
- Batten spacing to suit the profile and the site wind rating
- Penetrations and flashings planned before sheeting starts
- Installed to Australian Standards and manufacturer requirements

Absolutely brilliant to deal with, prompt, efficient, knowledgeable, and his workmanship is amazing. We would definitely recommend Michael and we will be using his services again on some future projects.

We recently bought our house, which was only five years old, and unfortunately discovered extensive roof issues that had not been built to Australian standards. After speaking with several roofers, Michael came across as the most professional and helpful. He was prompt, meticulous, and I couldn't recommend him more highly.

The team was professional and detail-oriented from start to finish. They replaced my old tile roof with a new tin roof, restored damaged areas, and installed new fascia and gutters. Their work quality is outstanding, and they completed everything on time and within budget.

Metal Roof Installation Questions
New installations are priced on roof area, pitch, profile and how much flashing work the shape requires. A simple carport or garage is quick. A cut up house roof with valleys, dormers and multiple penetrations takes far longer per square metre. Contact us for a free quote.
Yes. We do a lot of work alongside builders and other trades, and we can fit into a construction programme. Being clear about when the frame will be ready and when we need to be off the roof keeps everyone moving.
Yes, those are straightforward jobs for us and we take them on regularly. Zincalume is often the sensible choice for a shed, while most people want Colorbond on anything visible from the house.
A garage or carport is usually a day or two. A full house roof on a new build is typically several days depending on size and complexity. We give you a timeframe with the quote.
Yes. Sarking and insulation go in as part of the installation. They matter for condensation control as much as for heat, and on a metal roof leaving them out causes problems later.
We cover Melbourne's South East, from Cranbourne and Pakenham through to Frankston and the Mornington Peninsula. Check our areas we serve page, or call 0478 831 069 and we will let you know either way.
