Choosing A Roof Colour
No. Standard Colorbond colours are all priced the same, so you can choose on looks rather than budget. The things that move the price are the roof area, the pitch, the access and how much flashing work the roof shape needs.
A dark roof absorbs more heat than a light one, and you notice it most on a low pitch roof directly over living areas. Proper sarking and insulation handle most of it. If the roof sits close above bedrooms and takes full afternoon sun, it is worth weighing a lighter colour.
Monument, Basalt and Woodland Grey are what we install most, and Surfmist stays popular where keeping heat down matters. That said, popular is not the same as right for your house. What your brickwork and window frames are doing should drive it.
Yes. Guttering, fascia capping, downpipes and barge cappings all come in the same range, so the roofline can be one colour or a deliberate contrast. Our Colorbond gutters page covers the options.
Yes, and we recommend it. We bring physical samples to the inspection and hold them against your brickwork, render and trim in daylight, which is the only comparison that really counts. Use the visualiser to build a shortlist first.
