The Colour Is The Part You Live With Every Day
Most of the decisions in a re-roof are technical and invisible. The colour is the one you and everyone driving past will see for the next thirty years, and it is the one people find hardest to commit to.
Choosing from a palm sized swatch under fluorescent light is genuinely difficult. Colours read completely differently across a whole roof plane, in daylight, next to your particular brick and render.
Colour is not only cosmetic either. A dark roof absorbs noticeably more heat than a light one, which matters on a low pitch roof sitting directly over living areas through a Melbourne summer.
- Swatches that look nothing like the finished roof
- A colour that clashes with existing brickwork or window frames
- Dark colours adding heat load over living spaces
- Older roofs where the original colour has faded beyond matching
- Profiles chosen for looks without checking the roof pitch allows it

See It On A Roof Before You Commit To It
We bring physical samples out to the property and hold them against your brickwork, render and trim in natural light, because that is the only comparison that means anything.
You can also try the whole Colorbond range on a roof using our visualiser, which is far more useful than a swatch when you are trying to picture Monument against your place instead of Surfmist.
On the technical side we match the profile to your roof pitch and span, and specify the right product for the environment. Standard Colorbond suits most of suburban Melbourne, while coastal and industrial locations need a marine grade.
- Physical colour samples brought to your property
- Full range viewable on our online roof visualiser
- Profile matched to your roof pitch, span and wind rating
- Marine grade specified where the location calls for it
- Installed to the manufacturer’s requirements so the warranty stands
Melbourne Homeowners On Our Colorbond Work

Absolutely brilliant to deal with, prompt, efficient, knowledgeable, and his workmanship is amazing. We would definitely recommend Michael and we will be using his services again on some future projects.

We recently bought our house, which was only five years old, and unfortunately discovered extensive roof issues that had not been built to Australian standards. After speaking with several roofers, Michael came across as the most professional and helpful. He was prompt, meticulous, and I couldn't recommend him more highly.

The team was professional and detail-oriented from start to finish. They replaced my old tile roof with a new tin roof, restored damaged areas, and installed new fascia and gutters. Their work quality is outstanding, and they completed everything on time and within budget.

Colorbond Roofing Questions
Price comes down to the roof area, the pitch, access, and how complex the roof shape is. A simple gable is much cheaper per square metre than a cut up roof with several valleys and dormers, because the flashing work is where the labour goes. Contact us for a free quote.
Monument, Basalt and Woodland Grey are the colours we install most, and Surfmist stays popular where people want to keep heat down. The right answer depends on your brickwork and how much sun the roof takes. Try a few on our roof visualiser.
The finish is designed to hold colour for a long time and it comes with a manufacturer warranty covering it. There is some gradual change over decades, particularly on darker colours, but it is nothing like the fading you see on painted steel.
Zincalume is the coated steel base without the painted finish, so it stays a metallic silver. Colorbond is that same base with a baked on colour coating. Zincalume is a little cheaper and works well on sheds and garages, while Colorbond is what most people want on a house.
Yes. Guttering, fascia capping, downpipes and barge cappings all come in the Colorbond range, so you can run the whole roofline in one colour or deliberately contrast the trim. Our Colorbond gutters page covers the options.
We cover Melbourne's South East, from Cranbourne and Pakenham through to Frankston and the Mornington Peninsula. Check our areas we serve page, or call 0478 831 069 and we will let you know either way.
